EASTER WEEKEND

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We sure did! The Easter Bunny came to our house and "hid" Richter's basket.
It didn't take him any time at all to find it (obviously). Of all of things in the basket he pulled the Dora video out first. He is completely obsessed with her. It was so much fun watching him get excited about everything. The difference in his reaction now compared to Christmas is amazing. He just didn't get it at 12 months old but certainly does now.
The Easter Bunny also brought a bubble blowing lawn mower. He had to check it out before he got up and pushed it.

Richter loves anything trucks. Real ones, pictures of them, toy trucks, books about trucks, etc. He got legos in his basket and one is a fire fighter with a "truck" (I think it is really a 4 wheeler). He is showing it to me here saying truck.
We went to Nana and Papa's for Easter brunch. The Easter Bunny stopped there and left Richter a beach cart with shovels, buckets and sand molds in it. We are ready for the sand! (Beach or sandbox, we're not picky)

We went outside to check on Papa's garden and just enjoy the sunshine.

From there we were off to Meemaw and Papa's (aka Big Jim) for dinner and an Easter egg hunt. Richter had a great time looking for eggs. The Easter Bunny made his way there also. Richter got books, trucks and a really cool hammer.

Our cat, Samantha, was very helpful!!

Saturday morning we went to an egg hunt at Camp Kum-Ba-Yah. The Easter Bunny was there to help.

Friday night we stayed in an colored our eggs. I think we have pictures on the flip video of that but here are the finished products.
We had a very fun filled weekend with family and friends, I hope you all did too!

LOVIN MY PUDDIN

Richter loves using utensils and feeding himself. He is really good with a little fork. Today he ate pudding "by himself". He loved every minute of it.

16 MONTHS OLD

Good golly, getting a picture of Richter beside his dog is close to impossible lately. Our baby boy is in motion 99% of the time. He loves his dog so much he wants to snuggle with it all of the time.
PAJAMA TIME is his favorite book and that only held his interest for about 2 minutes.

So here is the best we could do this month for Richter's 16 month pics sitting next to "dog".
Update:
Richter is a freakin chatter box! He talks ALL OF THE TIME. I read quite a few blogs and a lot of them can list what their babies are saying from month to month. There is no way I could do that. Richter recites about 4 new words a day. He will try to say anything we say, or any sound we make or any sound he hears. Unfortunately MANY people think he gets it from me, but I'm not real sure what they are talking about. I'm sure it comes from D. (if you know him you know the humor in that)
Richter has recently learned to "jump". His body does not leave the ground but he sure thinks it does and boy does he get a kick out of it. And I get a kick out of watching him.
He is so much fun right now. Everything is such a big deal. Everything gets a "Whoa" or "Wow" and we are very dramatic with every emotion whether it is happy, excited, sad or angry.
Our little man still only weighs about 22 lbs (10-15th percentile) and is only about 30.5 inches (25-50th percentile). 12-18 month clothes are still too big but with the way Richter has been eating lately there is no doubt he has hit a growth spurt right now.
Outside of D, Richter is without a doubt the love of my life. The older he gets, and the more aware he becomes, he is developing into a little love bug and likes to snuggle. I am enjoying every moment of this!

MAMA DIDN'T RAISE NO FOOL

I was getting ready for work the other morning and things were a little quiet. Somebody got in Mommy's wallet and had a big time with the cash and credit cards. Then he pulled his latest signature move. GET UP AND GET OUT OF DODGE...

"Come on Mom, chase me!"

NEW CLOTHES & SHOES

I have become obsessed with bargain shopping!! I absolutely love Once Upon a Child as well as other local children's consignment shops, for more reasons than one. Of course the main reason being the bargain. How exciting to find Polo clothes, or Gap clothes for next to nothing. (Of course T.J. Maxx is still a fave of mine also) Living in a small town we don't have a lot of places to buy baby clothes so all of the little ones end up sporting the same gear. Not when you shop consignment, just another added bonus. My latest thrill is buying Richter smocked outfits on ebay. It could easily become a sickness. I have gotten several outfits for next to nothing compared to the original price and they are like new. SO. MUCH. FUN. Shoes on the other hand are a different story! But I feel justified spending a little more on shoes since I save so much on clothes. (shhhh if you think that is just silly) We ordered Richter three new pairs of shoes yesterday and I want them to get here today. (but I guess I can wait a few days) Look at how cute these Saucony tennis shoes are. And these Keens and of course the Keds. I tried to talk D into these cuties for special occasions but it didn't go over too well. I'm not giving up yet!! It's funny how once you have a child, shopping for yourself or your home really doesn't seem to matter anymore.
