RANDOM HODGE PODGE OF PICS

Doesn't this poor little face just scream sick baby? It has broken my heart the last couple of days.Looks like the little stinker is saying "I feel icky!"
Here he is finally getting some well needed sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed yesterday!
Having a good time in the jump and go.

Richter and I just lying around one afternoon!
(we didn't do such a great job getting good pool pics, but hey...we have all summer)
Mom and I had to run a couple of errands real quick so Papa watched Richter for me. This is what we found when we got home. I think Papa was in heaven.

6 MONTHS OLD!

We have a sick little six month old at our house. (although you'd never know it looking at this sweet face). It's nothing serious and he should be back to normal in a few days. Our "photo shoot" started out with Richter sitting tall and looking very proud of all he has accomplished in half of a year. (no, he does not have a bow tie on, it's the collar of his shirt)

Then the little guy wanted to check out his sign...

...and then his dog!

I hate that our sweet little guy is sick but the doctor says he should be back to normal in a couple of days so we will just lay low. On the plus side, he suggested we try giving Richter yogurt and popsicles for his throat. (he has two blisters in the back of his throat) HE LOVES BOTH OF THEM!!
I will update you all soon on what Richter has been up to the past month.

FUN IN THE SUN

Thank goodness Richter loves the water. (and Haydon) We spent the weekend "swimming" and he is comfortable in the water. He loves that thumb. Thankfully he chews it instead of sucks it. Who knows? Maybe that's how it starts but I would rather him have a pacifier than suck his thumb.
I love this picture with Nana.
I am so happy he likes the water. I plan on spending quite a bit of time swimming with my boy this summer.

THIS IS FOR YOU AUNT JILLIAN

First things first...how do you like my onesie? We love it!!I have been thinking about the things Richter (nor I) could live without from day one. (I posted about some of these things in one of my first posts, sorry about the repeats)
  • pack n play - there are several different versions out there but we really love ours that has a removable bassinet and changing table. VERY HANDY!
  • a swing - what a lifesaver for just about everything. It was great for nap time and also occupying him while I needed to shower, cook, clean, etc. (not so much anymore)
  • bouncy seat - this was short lived for Richter but he did enjoy it for about 2 months! The thing he really liked about it was that it vibrated. VIBRATION IS REALLY IMPORTANT, THEY LOVE IT.
  • play gym (activity gym) - this was something we used daily until about 2 week ago!
  • boppy - great for feeding (whether breast feeding or bottle feeding) while they are newborns, but also great for helping them with tummy time and sitting later. LOVE THIS ONE!
  • aden & anais swaddling blankets - the very best! (diapers.com) I love the fact that they are bigger than most and the light weight muslin fabric is great. Before I had Richter I had no opinion one way or another about swaddling. HE LOVED IT! We actually still swaddle him when he is restless. It is amazing how it relaxes him.
  • some sort of "lovey" - I definitely forced his little froggy on him but now he loves it. He rubs it on his face and it soothes him.
  • pacifiers - just a couple to have on hand just in case. I didn't want Richter to depend on one. The second night we were home from the hospital and he was screaming at 3:30 in the morning I broke down. I do not regret it.
  • a sound machine - we have the gentle giraffe for Richter and we hung it on his crib. It plays 4 different sounds. The one we use most is white noise. It is like the sound they hear in the womb and it soothes them also.

I hope this helps! There are probably more things I could add to the list but I think this is a good start. I will let you know if I think of anything else. xoox
