GIVING THANKS, BIRTHDAY CELEBRATING AND COLLEGE FOOTBALL

We had a wonderful first Thanksgiving as a party of 3. We were in Appomattox most of the day with my family, then headed back to Lynchburg in the evening to see DH's family. Of course too much food was consumed because it was all soooo good, and hey, that's what you do on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately yet again I was not so good with the camera. I did get a few good shots of Freddie and Richter playing Legos.

Friday afternoon we went to Charlottesville to celebrate Lil's birthday with Cissa, Ed, Morgen, Gardner and Kyle. Luckily we got to the room before her and had a chance to decorate. She was so excited and loved it so much.

After we celebrated in the room a little we all got dressed to go to the Jefferson to see Indecision play. We were all just happy to be together, especially for such a special occasion. Here's a pic of me and the birthday girl.
Morgen, me, Cissa and Lil.
Saturday afternoon we went back to Appomattox to watch the Ohio State vs. Michigan game. Obviously the Harris' were rooting for the Wolverines. The rest of the people in the house...not so much. (Mom, Daddy, Brian and Carter were all decked out in OSU gear)
Richter couldn't watch anymore of the clobbering so he decided to crash out.

I can't believe this sleeping angel will be a year old 2 weeks from Tuesday!

LOOK WHAT I FOUND

I mentioned in an earlier post that Richter likes to put things inside of other things. We have gotten a kick out of finding all of his toys stuffed inside of things. (and also Daddy's cell phone which we had to call to actually find it here)

It's things like this that put a huge smile on my face and brighten my day! xo

FOLLOWERS

Everyday I log onto my blog to see if I have any new followers. It is something I look forward to. I click on the link on my favorites bar and get all excited as the blog loads and then I scroll down and.......... nothing! Nada! No change... NONE! So, I just want to say thank you and give a shout out to the 5 of you that follow me and put it out there so I know you do!
Mom and DH, thank you so much for your comments. It is nice to know I don't put all of this time and effort into my blog for no reason.
The rest of you, please sign up to follow our party of three. We would greatly appreciate it. And hey pass the website along to any friends or family members that might want to keep up with us (mainly Richter)

BIG BOY CAR SEAT

I can't believe my baby boy is almost a year old and with that...so many changes. Richter will upgrade to a front facing, big boy car seat, no more formula...we will be introducing milk (not sure if it will be 2% or soy since he is drinking soy formula) and we are already graduating into "big guy" food. I have been buying a lot of the Great Value brand food from Walmart and have been really pleased with everything I have tried. Big plus for me (and Richter) they have individual servings of fruits and veggies which is awesome for the bug. I have also been told Bob Evans mac n' cheese and mash potatoes come in individual servings also. How awesome for my little munchkin that is exploring new things every day.

JUST HANGIN OUT...

in my teepee. Meemaw got Freddie this teepee (I know I need a pic of the whole thing) when he was little. He and Aunt Jean got it out of their attic and brought it over for Richter. He wasn't sure what to think of it at first but now he loves it. He sits in it and watches tv, he plays hide and seek when he's inside and he loves to crawl out of the back then crawl around the side to "surprise" us.
I had to add this picture. My baby looks like such a big boy here. It's just hard to wrap my brain around the fact that I am going to have a toddler very soon. IS THAT POSSIBLE??
We went to a friend's house Saturday night. He had an oyster roast/frogmore stew party which was a lot of fun. Richter was confiscated on more than one occasion, of course everyone just loved our little guy. I wish I had a camera at the party to show you how he was covered in chocolate right before we left. (mommy wasn't happy) We left right at 8:00 and it was only about a 5 minute drive home and this is what we got home to. Exhausted monkey!
He didn't even wake up on the changing table.
Papa took Richter on his first 4 wheeler ride yesterday. I don't think he knew what think. Oh well, it's just the first of many babe, I'm sure you'll love it.

And last but not least, Richter decided to tackle the steps yesterday and did it like a champ. He was climbing them as if he has been doing it for weeks. Again, DH and I are so proud of him.
Oops, there was supposed to be a video of Richter climbing the steps but it won't upload dangit! I'll try again another day.
Happy Monday!

THE TURKEY IS 11 MONTHS OLD

Enough said...

Then things started to get crazy!

Richter is so busy right now I know it won't be long before he is walking. He is really moving behind his push toys all of the time. I'm not trying to rush anything by any means but the little guy still only has two teeth. It has not stopped him any in the food department, he is just about completely done with baby food. It is exciting to give him all kinds of new things. There isn't much he doesn't like so far. (the only thing I can really think of is instant oatmeal, I think it's a texture thing...just like Mommy) Richter talks all of the time and in my opinion he is forming more words and knows what he is saying. He loves to put things inside of other things. Just today I found a pacifier in my cowboy boot and DH's cell phone in a candle holder in the living room. (I will post pics of that soon) And another big accomplishment today...he climbed the steps at Nana's for the first time. Favorite shows are still Jack's Big Music Show and Yo Gabba Gabba. Thank goodness he is becoming a better napper. Instead of several catnaps it seems we are getting one 1.5-2 hour nap and a second one about an hour or so a day. I know I say this every month but it is so fun to watch him grow and learn new things, we are so fortunate to have such an active, smart little guy. I love you Richter Ewing Harris.

LOVE THIS SHOW

Of course I love Modern Family just like about everyone I know but Cougar Town is just as hilarious. I don't think it gets enough hype. It took a few shows for me to get into it last season but I dvr'd it weekly and stuck with it. I really ended up enjoying it. This season I find myself laughing out loud every week. I think the cast is great and everyone suits their character perfectly but I have to say I think Ellie Torres makes the show!! If you don't watch it, do yourself a favor and at least check it out one time.
I'm just sayin'...

8 MONTH PICS

A good friend of ours dabbles in photography and offered to take pictures of Richter for us. She lives right around the corner from my mom and daddy so on a sunny day in August she brought her kids to swim in the pool while we took pictures in the front yard. We asked her to take pictures of all three grandchildren for Nana also. I think several of them turned out great.
